A Little Bit of Astrophysics

Okay, so we know that dark matter exists - but we can't find it.=
What if what we thought was the "space" of space was actually the dark matter we speak of, clustered at different densities throughout the known universe?

Stephen Hawking talked about time and space consisting of waves, and a wave consists of energy being passed through matter - so why can't space be the dark matter we seek?

It's just a theory, but it's something to chew on.

McCain's VP

... Turns out she's a gun-toting, pro-life, 44 year-old hockey mom.

At this point Sen. John McCain is just trying to play catch up with Obama. Yes, adding an older man as a VP put some experience at his back, but McCain adding a middle-aged woman really only serves the purpose of trying to make McCain slightly able to contend with Obama's staggering mantra of change that is sweeping the nation.

I'm sorry, Sarah Palin, but the most you have done, and probably will do for John McCain is make him look older.

It's too little, too late for the McCain train.

The Twilight Saga

For those of you who don't know, the Twilight Saga is a story about a 17 year old girl, Bella Swan, who falls in love with a handsome and deadly vampire, Edward Cullen. However, their relationship thrusts them into a deadly game of betrayal, destruction, and sorrow, as they fight the forces that threaten to tear their love apart.
-----------------------------------
Let me tell you a little bit about Urban Fantasy. Urban Fantasy is essentially the telling of a fictional story, often with magical elements, that is its own world mashed in with ours. Urban Fantasy is quickly becoming a hot genre in reading circles, and it also happens to be the genre of the saga I choose to discuss with you today, the Twilight Saga.

To say the least, it is a romance series. Most of you would shy away at this point, but feel comfortable, as I am not much of a romance-lover, I think. The reason that I harbor doubts on my dislike of romance is because this series changed me and the way I look at literature. It takes all the will I have right now not to burst forth with tumultuous amounts of praise. That would ruin the post. Instead I have decided to write a nice, composed critique on what could quite possibly be the best collection of novels on earth that my hands have been blessed to hold.

Awww... screw it.

Twilight is the most amazing collection of papers ever to befall my eyes. I have never before felt so attached to a particular novel. I laughed, I cried, and I burned the midnight oil just to be with the characters of this beloved saga. The author's style seems to reach out to you, to embrace you, and then drag you into the maelstrom of love, war, and terror that is Twilight. Funny that paper could bring one into such a state, but it will.

Twilight seems to carve out a niche in the reading market with the most scandalous romantic subject that is available. Falling in love with a vampire. Ooey-gooey as it may seem, Twilight doesn't fail to disappoint readers that crave for action, as the obvious barriers presented in the story only lead to the beginning of the heart pounding action that doubtlessly exceeds the point thought only to be reachable by novels and movies such as Romeo & Juliet, and Saving Private Ryan.

In summary, the Twilight series hold no lack of romance, terror, heartbreak, and any gimmicks that could possibly be dreamed of in a vampire romance. In the end you'll be left not wanting, but crying for more of this addictive saga. I know I was.

Sunshine Outshines the Competition

I recently watched the movie Sunshine, and to say the least, it's a movie that could rival the likes of Star Wars.

To give a brief synopsis, a crew aboard the space shuttle, Icarus II, must deliver a massive atomic bomb to the center of Sol (our sun, for those of you who don't know) in order to ignite the dying star once again.

Although I wish I could say the movie was flawless, some of the physics elements were a little questionable. However, by the time you thought about them, you were lost in the awe of the special effects and the suspense of the plot.

I recommend this motion picture to all who can see it. This quest to save a star deserves five of them.

Imposing Restrictions on Our Music

That's right. With the new bill (C-61) on the table of the House of Commons, our PM, Stephen Harper, would create a music environment where it is illegal to publish a copyrighted song, share it, copy and paste from DRM'd books, and even RIP CD'S! Any of these actions would be punishable by a $20,000 fine.

Stand up for your musical rights, stand up against bill C-61.

New Energy Drink on the Market

We all know how big the energy drink market is with teens these days. I've heard a couple times that energy drinks are the cigarettes of this era. Most of the energy drinks I have seen so far have been packed with more chemicals than the Californian Airshed. However, I walked into the local market one day, to find a new competitor that stood out from all the other energy drinks. That company was Guru, inc. Their energy drink claims to be entirely natural. No taurine, no caffeine, and no artificial sugar. Even then, it still has the buzz of a monster, the taste of a jolt, and it comes in carbonated, non-carbonated, and diet flavours as well. They also have some well designed cans, too. All of their drinks use panax ginseng, bilboa extract, and cane sugar. Guru has my stamp of approval for captializing on a healthy energy drink, naturally.

I reccomend you go out and buy some before they are sold out. With the new eco-craze that is going on, you can't tell what's going to happen.
